Override "Category Based" Layer Assignments
In Revit, elements are sometimes modeled as “general model” (a fancy piece of furniture, for example). But when such an element is exported to DWG, the layer assigned will be the layer assigned to the category “general model”. This problem has been adressed with the EDER-tool. In order to make it possible to export such elements to the correct layer, an “override” can be created so that family instances modelled with the “wrong” category will be exported to the “correct” layer.
This feature also allows it, to assign different layers on a per Family or Type basis.
